Logistics Specialist

Job Summary

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the movement, storage, and distribution of goods to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient logistics operations. This role involves coordinating shipments, monitoring inventory, preparing shipping documentation, communicating with suppliers and freight forwarders, and ensuring compliance with applicable customs regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including import and export operations.
• Arrange transportation, freight forwarding, and delivery schedules with carriers and logistics providers.
• Prepare and verify shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and delivery notes.
• Track shipments and provide timely updates on delivery status, delays, and potential issues.
• Coordinate with suppliers, customers, warehouse teams, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
• Ensure compliance with customs requirements, import/export regulations, and company procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock movements to support operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate logistics records, shipment reports, and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs, improve delivery performance, and optimize logistics processes.
• Resolve shipment discrepancies, delivery issues, damaged goods, and other logistics-related problems.
• Monitor supplier and carrier performance against agreed service levels.
• Support logistics budgeting, cost control, and preparation of operational reports.
• Ensure goods are handled, stored, and transported safely and securely.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations.
• Knowledge of import/export procedures, customs clearance, and shipping documentation.
• Familiarity with logistics management systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Knowledge of international trade terms (Incoterms) is an advantage.
• Experience with UAE customs procedures and regional logistics operations is an advantage for positions based in the UAE.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
