Logistics Specialist

Job Summary

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and supporting the execution of outbound shipments across multiple warehouse locations. This position serves as a key link between Customer Operations, warehouse personnel, drivers, and carriers to ensure shipments are scheduled, documented, verified, and completed accurately.

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for carrier scheduling, driver coordination, shipment verification, shipping documentation, and EDI Advance Ship Notices (ASNs). This role also serves as a quality-control checkpoint for outbound shipments, ensuring the correct product and load are assigned to the correct truck before the shipment leaves the facility.

The position is part of the Customer Operations team and works closely with the Sales Order Expeditor and warehouse operations to execute established shipping plans.

Responsibilities

• Logistics & Carrier Coordination

· Schedule outbound pickups with retailer-assigned carriers for multiple warehouse locations.

· Coordinate directly with carriers and dispatchers regarding pickup appointments and scheduling.

· Monitor scheduled shipping activity and communicate delays, conflicts, or other issues to the appropriate team members for resolution.

· Check in inbound and outbound drivers and coordinate dock assignments.

· Check out outbound drivers and ensure required shipping documentation is complete before departure.

· Maintain communication with warehouse personnel regarding scheduled pickups and shipping requirements.

• Shipment Verification & Quality Control

· Review planned outbound shipments before loading to verify product, quantities, load information, and supporting documentation are accurate.

· Work with warehouse personnel to ensure the correct load is placed on the correct truck.

· Identify shipment discrepancies before the truck leaves the facility.

· Stop or hold a shipment when an error or discrepancy is identified and escalate the issue to the appropriate team member for resolution.

· Verify that shipments leave the facility accurately and with the required documentation.

· Maintain accurate shipment information in NetSuite, TrueCommerce, and applicable tracking spreadsheets.

• Shipping Documentation & EDI

· Generate and transmit Advance Ship Notices (ASNs) accurately and timely.

· Review shipping paperwork for completeness and accuracy.

· Scan, save, and maintain completed Bills of Lading (BOLs) and other required shipping documentation.

· Update NetSuite, TrueCommerce, spreadsheets, and other records as necessary to accurately reflect completed shipments.

· Correct shipping paperwork and EDI ASNs when approved shipment changes occur.

· Ensure required shipment records and documentation are complete and properly maintained.

• Customer Operations Support

· Work closely with the Sales Order Expeditor to support execution of established shipping plans.

· Assist with creating loads and preparing shipping paperwork during periods of high volume or when additional coverage is required.

· Provide after-hours support for approved shipment changes, including correcting shipping paperwork and EDI ASNs as necessary.

· Provide additional shipping and order-processing support as business needs require.

· Learn and utilize company, customer, carrier, and EDI systems necessary to support logistics operations.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
