What they need

Description AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Logistics specialists play a vital role in the success of Amazon Web Services by providing the right part, in the right place at the right time. Your contribution to this success would be maintaining the onsite parts room in AWS Data Centres, by managing the custody of computer hardware through their entire lifecycle. This involves receiving parts, safely storing parts, picking and delivering parts to hardware technicians, cycle counts, and shipping faulty hardware back to the vendor.

You will work closely with Data Centre Operations and Engineering teams to ensure reliable functioning and repair activities to support our customers, while adhering to our operational tenants of safety, security and availability.

Key job responsibilities

Maintaining inventory levels to ensure that stock items are available to support build and repair activities.

Receiving parts, checking shipments and issuing parts as needed for internal customers.

Loading and unloading shipments and transporting parts between different sites.

Maintaining accurate stock records for all items within our care.

Maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all workspaces using 7S principles.

Point of escalation for other Logistics specialists

Project management of Logistics

A day in the life

Your day will be spent carrying out Logistical support functions for our Data Centers. This will involve physical control and processing of spare parts transactions, consumables stock replenishment, and cycle counting of stock.

The role will require some travel between sites to successfully complete tasks. Own transport to travel between sites will be required. You may be required to go into the Data Center after hours and over weekends on some occasions.

About The Team Diverse Experiences

AWS values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn’t followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don’t let it stop you from applying.

  • 3+ years of logistics experience
  • 1+ years of team leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with access to a personal vehicle for daily use
