Logistics Specialist (Punta Cana)

YOUR TASKS:

• Coordinate domestic and international transportation of materials, tools, and goods supporting aircraft maintenance operations.
• Plan and execute import and export shipments using efficient transportation solutions to meet internal and external customer requirements.
• Manage relationships with transportation providers, identify new carriers, negotiate freight rates and service conditions, and monitor service performance.
• Track shipments, proactively resolve transportation issues, and coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate import and export customs procedures and prepare and review transportation and customs documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable domestic and international transportation regulations, including dangerous goods regulations where required.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure the timely availability, movement, and delivery of materials needed for operations.
• Maintain accurate logistics records, shipment documentation, and operational reports.
• Identify and implement opportunities to optimize transportation costs, transit times, service quality, and overall logistics efficiency.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING:

• Higher or post-secondary education in Logistics, Transportation Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Knowledge of logistics, transportation, and supply chain processes.
• Understanding of import, export, and customs procedures.
• Ability to coordinate air, sea, and ground transportation.
• Negotiation skills when dealing with carriers and logistics suppliers.
• Knowledge of international shipping documentation.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to analyze logistics costs and optimize transportation processes.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Minimum of two years of experience in logistics, international transportation, foreign trade, or a similar position.
• Experience in aviation logistics and dangerous goods transportation is an advantage.
• Training in international transportation and logistics is desirable.
• IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) certification and ADR certification for road transport of dangerous goods are desirable.
• Advanced Spanish and intermediate English.
