Logistics Team Leader

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Logistics Team Leader to oversee daily logistics operations, supervise team members, and ensure the timely and efficient movement of goods. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the freight forwarding operations team handling land, sea, and air shipments.
• Coordinate import, export, and cross-trade shipments from booking to final delivery.
• Manage shipment bookings, cargo collection, documentation, customs clearance, and delivery schedules.
• Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, transport companies, customs brokers, overseas agents, and customers.
• Ensure accurate preparation and timely processing of shipping documents, including bills of lading, air waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, and delivery orders.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delays, documentation issues, and operational challenges.
• Coordinate with customs clearance teams to ensure compliance with applicable import and export regulations.
• Negotiate and coordinate freight rates with carriers, transporters, and service providers to maintain competitive pricing.
• Monitor team performance, allocate workloads, and ensure operational deadlines and service standards are met.
• Coordinate with the sales and pricing teams to support customer requirements and business development.
• Maintain accurate shipment records, prepare operational reports, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, control costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of land, sea, and air freight operations.
• Oversee the complete shipment lifecycle, including booking, documentation, customs clearance, transportation, tracking, and final delivery.
• Develop and implement efficient operational procedures, workflows, and service standards.
• Ensure all shipments are handled within agreed timelines, budgets, and customer requirements.
• Proactively manage operational challenges, shipment delays, escalations, and service disruptions.
• Establish clear accountability, priorities, and performance standards across the operations team.
