Long Haul Flat Deck Driver

We are seeking reliable and experienced Long Haul Flat Deck Drivers to join our team. This role involves operating commercial vehicles over long distances to deliver freight efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate large commercial truck across Canada and the United States, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Transport freight efficiently from origin to destination, ensuring timely deliveries
• Perform routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels
• Tarping, chaining, strapping, and ensuring safety and security of cargo
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and compliance documentation
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding routes, delivery schedules, and any issues encountered during transit
• Conduct basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting if mechanical issues arise during trips
• Operate heavy equipment safely when necessary for loading or unloading freight

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 license with a clean driver’s abstract
• Minimum 1 year of driving experience
• Prior flat deck experience would be an asset
• Winter driving experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in time management and route planning
• Strong understanding of safety procedures related to commercial driving and heavy equipment operation
• Ability to operate electronic logging devices (ELDs)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
