Long Term 5th Grade Substitute Teacher

JOB SUMMARY: Position duties consist of teaching 5th grade. The instructor will oversee the progress of all students, address their individual needs, and coordinate activities to create a stimulating and caring classroom environment.

The successful candidate will be an educator who is highly skilled and experienced in a broad range of Elementary Education instruction.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Oversee the progress of all students in your groups, provide for their individual needs, and coordinate activities to create a stimulating and caring classroom environment.

· Planning, preparing and delivering lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.

· Instruct, monitor and evaluate students in the use of learning materials and equipment.

· Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.

· Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.

· Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, following the school student handbook.

· Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary protocols of the school.

· Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.

· Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.

· Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.

· Effectively prepare and adapt the classroom for varied classroom activities.

· Assign and evaluate classwork, homework, tests, and assignments.

· Maintain rapport and communication with parents, administration, and staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BA or BS in Elementary Education or related field
• PA Level 1 Teaching Certification (required)
• 1-year teaching experience preferred
