Long-Term Substitute Teacher

We are seeking dedicated Long-Term Substitute Teachers to provide consistent classroom leadership and instruction during extended teacher absences.

What You’ll Do

• Provide daily instruction and classroom leadership throughout the assignment.
• Follow and implement the teacher's lesson plans and school curriculum.
• Maintain a structured, positive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Deliver instruction aligned with established learning objectives and standards.
• Adapt instruction and classroom activities to meet student learning needs.
• Maintain classroom routines, expectations, and effective behavior management.
• Monitor student engagement, learning, and progress.
• Complete classroom documentation and other required records.
• Communicate with school administrators, teachers, support staff, and families as appropriate.
• Collaborate with school staff to support student academic and social-emotional needs.
• Follow IEP accommodations, classroom supports, and school procedures when applicable.
• Maintain continuity of instruction throughout the teacher's absence.
• Participate in required meetings, professional development, and school activities as applicable.

Assignment

• Long-term classroom assignments
• Typically more than 20 consecutive school days
• May include assignments covering a teacher on an approved leave of absence
• Consistent school-day schedule for the duration of the assignment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid Minnesota Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, or Tier 4 teaching license aligned to the assignment, or another Minnesota authorization/permission applicable to the position.
• Appropriate subject-area or grade-level licensure preferred/required based on the assignment.
• Prior classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Strong instructional, classroom management, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage a classroom and maintain instructional continuity.
• Reliable, organized, and professional.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
