Duties

• Operate Class 1 lorries safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
• Load and secure cargo on flatbed trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and stability during transit
• Plan optimal delivery routes to meet schedules while minimizing delays and fuel consumption
• Deliver goods to customers or distribution centers accurately and professionally, providing excellent customer service
• Complete all necessary documentation, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and route sheets
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly

Skills

• Strong driving skills with a clean driving record and valid Class 1 license
• Knowledge of road safety regulations, vehicle maintenance, and cargo securing techniques
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading/unloading cargo with care
• Excellent navigation skills with experience in route planning for timely deliveries
• Good communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
• Familiarity with delivery driver best practices and maintaining high safety standards
