LORRY DRIVER

Arizzu Design is seeking a dependable, careful, and punctual Lorry Driver to transport custom cabinetry, interior fit-out materials, furniture, tools, and site equipment between our workshop/warehouse and client project sites. The ideal candidate ensures the safe handling and secure transit of finished interior products while maintaining vehicle roadworthiness and compliance with transport regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation & Delivery

• Safely operate company commercial vehicles (e.g., 1-tonne to 3-tonne lorries) to deliver interior design fixtures, raw materials, and completed joinery to residential and commercial project sites.
• Plan optimal travel routes using GPS tools (Waze/Google Maps) to avoid heavy traffic and meet scheduled delivery windows.
• Assist the installation and logistics crew with loading, unloading, and staging delicate carpentry and glass components without damage.
• Secure all cargo properly using ratchets, ropes, padding, and blankets to prevent scratches, shifting, or breakage during transit.

Documentation & Client Coordination

• Verify delivery items against Delivery Orders (DO), invoices, and packing lists before departing the warehouse.
• Obtain clear signatures, company stamps, or digital acknowledgments from site supervisors, contractors, or clients upon successful handover.
• Communicate promptly with the operations team regarding traffic delays, route disruptions, or site access restrictions (e.g., loading bay clearances, condo management permits).

Vehicle Care & Maintenance

• Conduct routine daily vehicle inspections (engine oil, coolant, tire pressure, brake function, lights, and turn signals) prior to departure.
• Keep the vehicle clean, orderly, and well-maintained inside and out.
• Coordinate with management for periodic vehicle servicing, road tax renewals, and PUSPAKOM inspections.
• Report any mechanical faults, tire wear, or damage immediately to the supervisor.

Safety & Site Compliance

• Strictly adhere to Malaysian road safety laws, weight limits, and speed regulations.
• Follow site-specific safety protocols, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE: safety boots, vest, helmet) when entering active construction or renovation sites.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: SPM / Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
• Licensing: Valid Malaysian Driving License (Class D & GDL - Goods Driving License) with a clean driving record and zero demerit suspensions.
• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of commercial lorry driving experience. Prior experience in interior design, carpentry, furniture delivery, or renovation logistics is an advantage.
• Physical Capability: Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting, loading, and unloading fragile or bulky furniture pieces alongside the crew.
• Familiarity: Strong knowledge of Klang Valley roads, major highways, and common commercial loading dock procedures.
• Attributes: Reliable, punctual, honest, and able to work independently as well as collaborate smoothly with site installers.
• Flexibility: Willing to work overtime or on weekends when project deadlines require urgent site deliveries.
