About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lorry Foreman to join MAN SOON AUTOMOBILE & ENGINEERING SDN BHD in Ipoh, Perak. As Lorry Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of lorry maintenance, repair, and fleet management, ensuring that all vehicles operate safely and efficiently. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for quality service and operational excellence in the automotive trades sector.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of mechanics and technicians responsible for lorry maintenance, repair, and servicing
• Oversee daily workshop operations and ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards
• Conduct vehicle inspections and diagnose mechanical issues to determine appropriate maintenance and repair procedures
• Schedule maintenance and repair work to minimise vehicle downtime and maintain fleet availability
• Monitor inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring adequate stock levels for efficient operations
• Train and develop workshop staff, providing guidance on technical skills and industry best practices
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and service history
• Coordinate with customers regarding vehicle status, repair estimates, and delivery schedules
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
• Report on workshop performance metrics and identify opportunities for operational improvements

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Lorry Foreman or similar supervisory role in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair

• A valid driving licence and willingness to operate vehicles when necessary

• Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive engineering, heavy vehicle maintenance, or workshop management are advantageous
