Loss Adjuster Trainee

Your Opportunity

Being part of a team in an international loss adjusting firm in Hong Kong, you will have a great opportunity to develop a professional career in the general insurance industry. Through a phased program of learning, you will develop a professional knowledge and understanding of loss adjusting / claims management, in order to manage general insurance claims for our customers and their policyholders.

You will be expected to develop a knowledge and understanding of local insurance practices, the role and responsibilities of loss adjusters, the principles and practice of insurance and the related legal principles. This knowledge will be gained through on-job training, mentoring, technical seminars and self-study towards the attainment of professional qualifications awarded by the recognized international insurance bodies including the CII, ANZIIF, CILA and AICLA.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s Degree in Risk and Insurance Management with good academic results; Graduates of other programs with a strong desire to pursue a career in loss adjusting profession are also welcome to apply.
• 1 – 5 years’ experience in general insurance claims
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
• Enthusiastic in developing a career in general insurance claims management
• Committed to study for insurance qualifications such as ANZIIF, ACII/FCII, ACILA/FCILA
• Responsible, self-motivated, team player and service-oriented
• Positive and eager to learn and strive for excellence
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good command of spoken and written English & Cantonese; Command in Putonghua will be an advantage
• Good command of Microsoft software like Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Your Role

You will deliver professional claims management services to clients by managing a portfolio of claims from investigation to settlement:

• Liaise with stakeholders in claims management including insurers, policyholders, brokers, claimants, third party service providers, etc.
• Conduct case investigations (desk top and site investigations with interview / statement taking)
• Analyze and advise on insurance policy liability
• Prepare investigation reports and regular claims reports to insurers
• Participate in claims settlement negotiations with policyholders, claimants and any related parties
• Accept other tasks assigned by your supervisor

As a team player, you will take instructions and work independently on designated adjusting support tasks, working to timelines as required, but predominantly working with and under the guidance of senior team members.
