Low Bed Class 1 Driver

Summary:

The Low Bed Class 1 Driver is responsible for transporting large equipment safely to and from job sites.

Job Duties Responsibilities:

• Transport all equipment safely in a timely manner using a Class 1 low bed truck
• Load/unload and secure heavy equipment onto the truck, including but not limited to operating and strapping down heavy equipment
• Perform all maintenance inspections on equipment, daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection
• Keep daily driver logbook
• Communicate with office and site foreman
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by general clean-up of site and equipment
• Report any equipment hazards or issues
• Comply with all policies, procedures, and safety regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license is required with a good driver’s abstract
• 2+ years low bed driving experience preferred
• Experience driving trucks with 7 axles or more is preferred
• Experience with heavy equipment is an asset
• Willing and able to work out-of-town/province as needed
• Willingness to learn
• Physically capable of performing the duties of the position; walking, sitting, lifting, etc. for long periods of time
• Work in various weather conditions (hot/humid weather, rain, snow, winter, etc.)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and excellent observation skills
• Safety-first attitude
• Provide: Hard hat, High Vis Vest, CSA approved steel-toed safety boots
