What they need

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Digital Workplace Engineer with 2–3 years of experience to support SharePoint migration and build practical solutions using SharePoint Online, Power Apps and Power Automate. The role is suited to someone with a solid development foundation, a willingness to learn and an interest in improving collaboration, document management and business processes.

Working with business users, product owners and technical stakeholders, the engineer will translate clear requirements into working solutions, assist with migration preparation and execution, resolve issues, and provide documentation and user support. The focus is on practical delivery rather than broad ownership of Azure architecture or enterprise DevOps.

The role will support the migration of content, sites and workflows from SG-DCS, SharePoint 2013 and other legacy environments to SharePoint Online. This includes content assessment, remediation, migration using tools such as ShareGate, validation, issue resolution and post-migration support.

Key Responsibilities

Support the assessment and migration of sites, documents, metadata, permissions and workflows from SG-DCS, SharePoint 2013 and other legacy environments to SharePoint Online.

Use migration tools such as ShareGate or Microsoft Migration Manager to run migration jobs, review results, correct errors and validate migrated content.

Configure and maintain SharePoint Online sites, document libraries, lists, metadata, views, navigation and permissions.

Build and enhance Power Apps and Power Automate workflows for straightforward business processes and productivity needs.

Develop or modify lightweight SharePoint components and integrations using SPFx, JavaScript or TypeScript where required.

Assist with discovery workshops, content inventories, migration mapping, testing, cutover preparation and post-migration support.

Troubleshoot migration, access, workflow and application issues, escalating complex problems when necessary.

Prepare clear technical documentation, test scripts, user guides and migration status updates.

Work directly with users to validate migrated content, gather feedback and make iterative improvements.

  1. Learn and apply relevant Microsoft 365, Power Platform and development practices with guidance from more experienced team members.

Required Skills and Experience

2–3 years of hands-on experience developing or supporting SharePoint, Microsoft 365 or Power Platform solutions.

Practical experience with SharePoint Online sites, document libraries, lists, metadata, permissions and basic administration.

Some hands-on exposure to SharePoint migration, including content assessment, migration execution, validation or issue remediation.

Experience with ShareGate, Microsoft Migration Manager or a similar migration tool is preferred; candidates with relevant migration fundamentals and a willingness to learn may also be considered.

Hands-on experience building or maintaining Power Apps and Power Automate workflows.

Basic development skills in JavaScript or TypeScript; exposure to SPFx, React, Microsoft Graph or REST APIs is useful but not mandatory across all areas.

Ability to troubleshoot systematically, test changes carefully and produce clear technical and user documentation.

Ability to work with business users and technical team members to clarify requirements and deliver practical solutions.

Familiarity with source control and basic development practices is helpful; deep expertise in Azure architecture, CI/CD or enterprise integration is not required.

  1. A proactive, hands-on attitude, willingness to learn and ability to take guidance, own assigned work and improve through feedback.

Preferred Skills

Exposure to SharePoint 2013, SharePoint Server, SG-DCS or other legacy collaboration platforms.

Experience supporting user acceptance testing, migration cutovers or post-migration hypercare.

Familiarity with Microsoft Lists, Forms, Dataverse, Power BI or Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Basic awareness of records management, retention, access control and information governance.

Experience working in government, regulated or security-conscious environments.

What Success Looks Like

Assigned SharePoint content, sites and workflows are migrated accurately with minimal disruption and clearly documented results.

Migration issues are identified early, investigated systematically and resolved or escalated promptly.

Power Apps and Power Automate solutions are simple, reliable, maintainable and useful to business teams.

Users receive clear support, documentation and guidance before and after migration.

The engineer steadily builds deeper SharePoint and Power Platform capability through hands-on delivery, feedback and continuous learning.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a practical, hands-on developer with 2–3 years of relevant experience and a strong interest in SharePoint migration and Power Platform delivery. They should be comfortable working through assigned migration tasks, building straightforward apps and workflows, troubleshooting issues, engaging users and learning unfamiliar tools or techniques. Broad expertise across Azure services, enterprise architecture and CI/CD is not expected for this role.
