Low Voltage Estimator

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Estimating Manager to support preconstruction efforts for complex construction projects, including data centers, transportation, and healthcare facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of structured cabling, fiber optics, and inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) infrastructure, with the ability to independently develop complete project estimates from conceptual design through final bid submission.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive low voltage estimates covering materials, labor, workforce requirements, production rates, equipment, project management hours, subcontractor costs, overhead, and profit margins.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and design documents to determine project scope, installation requirements, and associated costs.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for structured cabling, fiber optics, and ISP/OSP infrastructure.
• Calculate labor productivity, crew sizes, installation durations, and manpower requirements.
• Develop conceptual estimates using preliminary drawings, block and stack plans, and historical project data.
• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals, identify scope gaps, and validate pricing.
• Coordinate with project management, preconstruction teams, and trade partners throughout the estimating process.
• Support value engineering, cost analysis, bid preparation, and project handoffs.
• Participate in site walks and project meetings as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of low voltage estimating experience.
• Demonstrated experience independently developing complete low voltage estimates from conceptual design through final bid submission.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optic systems, and ISP/OSP infrastructure.
• Experience estimating labor, materials, workforce requirements, equipment, and overall project costs.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and preliminary design documents.
• Experience with estimating and takeoff software, including Accubid and Bluebeam.
• Understanding of construction sequencing, installation methods, and field labor productivity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hyperscale data center estimating experience.
• Experience with transportation, healthcare, or other large-scale commercial construction projects.
• Knowledge of security, access control, CCTV, and audiovisual (AV) systems.
• Background working for a general contractor, electrical contractor, or low voltage subcontractor.
• Experience developing conceptual budgets using historical project data.

• Relocation considered for qualified candidates.
• Up to 20% travel for site visits and project coordination.
