Low Voltage Foreman

IGY SIX Consulting is recruiting on behalf of our client, Vertex Security, a well-established New York City security integrator. This is a direct-hire position with Vertex Security.

Vertex Security is a New York City-based B2B security integrator serving commercial clients with access control, video surveillance, intercom, intrusion, and related low-voltage systems. Vertex designs, installs, services, and supports systems with a focus on accountability, responsiveness, quality, and customer service.

About the Role

Lead field execution on a low-voltage security project while working alongside the crew. You will represent Vertex on site, understand the customer’s goals and the contracted scope, coordinate people and materials, and keep the Project Manager informed. This is a hands-on installation leadership role; advanced programming expertise is not required.

What You Will Do

• Plan daily work, assign tasks, and perform or oversee rough-in, wire runs, device installation, and related low-voltage work.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, general contractor, customer contacts, electricians, and other trades on access, sequencing, and schedule.
• Review drawings and field conditions; identify scope gaps, RFIs, schedule risks, and potential change orders before the crew proceeds.
• Assess customer requests against the contracted work, explain implications respectfully, and obtain Project Manager direction before committing to material scope changes.
• Track progress, labor, materials, equipment orders, open issues, and site closeout; follow through until needs are resolved.
• Lead technicians by example and maintain standards for safety, workmanship, attendance, tools, and professional conduct.
• Support testing, punch-list completion, commissioning, and turnover with the lead technician and Project Manager.

What You Bring

• Hands-on low-voltage or electronic security installation experience, including rough-in and cable installation.
• Experience leading technicians or a field crew; approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience is preferred, but equivalent demonstrated capability will be considered.
• Ability to read construction drawings and coordinate work with general contractors and other trades.
• Strong site communication, documentation, ownership, and judgment about when to escalate a scope or technical issue.
• Ability to travel among NYC-area sites and perform the physical duties of field installation work.
• OSHA 40 certification for NYC job-site access, or ability to meet Vertex’s site-access requirements before assignment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with access control, CCTV, intercom, intrusion, or related security systems.
• Familiarity with New York City construction sites and OSHA 62 training.
• A valid driver’s license and eligibility to operate a company vehicle under Vertex’s insurance requirements may be needed if future assignments include company-vehicle driving.

What Success Looks Like

• The crew has clear priorities and completes quality installation work safely and on schedule.
• The Project Manager receives timely, accurate updates on progress, materials, risks, and customer requests.
• Scope changes are identified early, documented, and approved through the proper process before work proceeds.

Hiring Process

Qualified candidates may complete two virtual interviews followed by an in-person interview with Vertex leadership. IGY SIX Consulting will coordinate the recruiting process and share candidate information with Vertex Security for hiring consideration.

Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
