Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Installer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of low-voltage systems, including telecommunications, security, data cabling, and networking infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure that communication systems operate seamlessly, supporting our clients’ operational needs. Duties

• Install and terminate low-voltage cabling such as Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic systems, and structured wiring for telecommunications and data networks
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations
• Conduct fiber splicing and testing to ensure optimal signal integrity and system performance
• Troubleshoot equipment issues using diagnostic tools and perform repairs on networking hardware, VoIP systems, Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, and telecommunication devices
• Perform network installation tasks including Ethernet wiring, LAN setup, and configuration of Cisco routers and switches
• Test communication systems using specialized telecommunications testing equipment such as ohmmeters, RF testers, and other diagnostic tools
• Collaborate with clients and team members to deliver exceptional customer service while providing technical support during system setup or maintenance

Requirements

• Proven experience in low-voltage electrical systems installation including structured cabling (Cat5/Cat6), fiber optics, and telecommunications wiring
• Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts such as LANs, VLANs, Ethernet protocols, and network security fundamentals
• Familiarity with telecommunication systems including VoIP technology, Avaya systems, and radio frequency (RF) testing methods
• Ability to use hand tools (wire strippers, crimpers), power tools, electrical testers (ohmmeters), and diagnostic equipment confidently
• Understanding of AC/DC electrical systems for low-voltage applications along with safety procedures for electrical work
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose equipment faults efficiently and accurately
• Good customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients or team members
• Relevant certifications or training in telecommunications or electrical installation is preferred but not mandatory

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
