Low Voltage / Structured Cabling Technician (1099 Contract)

Independent contractor (1099), part-time, project-based. On-site at client locations in Miami, Tampa, and Orlando, FL, expanding to other major US cities.

EZETech LLC (ezetech.com) is an IT and cybersecurity firm in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, founded in 2012. We provide managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, Microsoft licensing, VoIP, web, and AI services. We are looking for independent low-voltage contractors for cabling and network installation projects.

Responsibilities (scope of work)

• Build and dress network racks, including cable management
• Run and terminate Cat5e/Cat6 cabling
• Terminate and splice fiber optic cable
• Install and configure Ubiquiti UniFi switches, access points, and gateways
• Label, test, and certify cable runs, and provide test results at project completion

Requirements

• Florida low-voltage contractor license or ability to work under one; please state your license status
• Hands-on structured cabling and fiber termination experience
• Comfort installing and configuring UniFi equipment
• Your own tools and reliable transportation
• Ability to deliver independently to an agreed project scope and timeline

Nice to have

• Cable certification testing equipment and experience
• Ubiquiti/UniFi certifications
• Your own general liability insurance

Compensation and engagement terms

• Independent 1099 contractor engagement; this is not an employment position
• Project-based: you accept or decline projects and set your own methods and hours within the agreed scope and deadline
• Rate: Competitive, discussed during the interview based on experience and project scope.
