Low Voltage Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of low-voltage systems, including telecommunications, networking, security, and audio-visual systems. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of communication infrastructure and enhance the overall safety and connectivity of our clients’ facilities. Responsibilities

• Install and configure low-voltage systems such as CCTV surveillance, fiber optic networks, structured cabling, Ethernet, Cat5/Cat6 wiring, and telecommunication systems.
• Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic systems installation to ensure high-quality data transmission.
• Conduct network wiring, cable termination, and equipment setup following schematics and technical specifications.
• Test communication systems using diagnostic tools like RF testers, and telecommunications testing equipment to identify faults and optimize performance.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely for equipment installation, cabling, and electrical wiring tasks involving AC/DC electrical systems.
• Collaborate with collogues to provide excellent customer service by explaining system functions and addressing technical concerns promptly.
• Maintain detailed documentation of installations, repairs, test results, and system configurations for quality assurance and future reference.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or in a similar field service role involving telecommunications or networking systems.
• Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN architecture, Ethernet protocols, TCP/IP configurations, and network security fundamentals preferred.
• Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and fiber optic system installation is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with schematics reading and interpreting technical diagrams for system setup and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of telephony systems such as VoIP platforms and traditional PBX setups.
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools like RF testers, telecommunication testing equipment effectively.
• Skilled in using hand tools (wire strippers, crimpers) as well as power tools for electrical wiring tasks involving structured cabling installation.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients at all levels.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is often required for field service travel.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
