Lowboy Driver

Join our dynamic transportation team as a Lowboy Driver and take on an exciting role that combines skill, precision, and responsibility! As a Lowboy Driver, you will operate specialized heavy-duty equipment to transport oversized loads, including heavy machinery, construction materials, and other large freight. Your expertise in commercial truck driving and cargo handling will ensure safe, efficient deliveries across diverse routes. Responsibilities

• Safely operate lowboy trailers and tractor-trailers to transport heavy and oversized freight, including machinery and construction equipment
• Navigate complex routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) routes
• Load and unload cargo with manual handling techniques while adhering to safety protocols for freight and hazardous materials (hazmat) when applicable
• Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations to maintain safety standards
• Secure loads properly using appropriate tie-downs, straps, and safety devices to prevent shifting or damage during transit
• Perform routine inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers such as flatbeds or tankers
• Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with endorsements relevant to lowboy operation and hazardous materials if required
• Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazard handling procedures, and safety standards for dangerous goods
• Experience with route driving using GPS navigation systems for efficient delivery planning
• Skilled in manual transmission operation and manual handling techniques for cargo loading/unloading
• Ability to handle logistics cargo securely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
• Excellent driving record with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
