LPN- Licensed Practical Nurse

Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (Pediatric LPN)

Reports To: Pediatric RN / DON

Authority: Provides delegated pediatric nursing services in home care settings under RN oversight.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor pediatric vital signs, medication administration, and trach/gtube care.
• Support activities of daily living for children with complex medical needs.
• Communicate changes in condition to supervising RN.
• Reinforce education and family training.
• Maintain organized and uptodate documentation.

Qualifications:

• Experience in pediatrics strongly preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:

• Virginia LPN license.
• Infant/child CPR.

Education:

LPN program graduate.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and reposition children; kneeling/sitting for floor care as needed.

Supports compliance with 12VAC5-381 including: Personnel (training, records), Supervision of Services, Client Rights & Complaints, Clinical/Administrative Records, Safety/Emergency Preparedness, and Quality Improvement. This role is clinical and works under DON/Administrator oversight in line with agency policies.
