LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse – General Surgery

Role Overview: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides primary clinical support in outpatient settings, assisting providers with patient care, diagnostics, and treatment. They obtain patient histories, vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations, while supporting minor procedures and diagnostic tests. The LPN collects lab specimens, manages patient communications, and administers medications and vaccines under provider supervision. Maintaining a clean environment and ensuring proper equipment setup are also key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support diagnosis and treatment by assisting providers and ensuring accurate documentation.
• Follow up on diagnostic tests for accuracy and completion.
• Prepare patients for exams, assist in procedures, and handle laboratory specimens.
• Administer medications and vaccines per scope of practice.
• Maintain a sterile environment and prepare exam rooms.

Qualifications & Skills: Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing is required. New and experienced LPNs are encouraged to apply. Strong communication, organizational skills, and adherence to safety protocols are essential.
