LPN PRN

For over the last seventy years, The Orchards have continued the traditional values inspired by the Fox Family: respect for one another, concern for each resident’s well-being, and encouragement of individual interests and enjoyment of life’s pleasures. These values are a gift The Orchards staff members share every day with residents and each other.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing setting while maintaining a safe, abuse-free environment. The LPN administers medications and treatments, supervises Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), monitors resident conditions, and ensures compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care, medications, treatments, and incidents.
  • Participate in shift report, including admissions, discharges, transfers, resident status changes, and new orders.
  • Advocate for resident rights and maintain effective communication with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Respond immediately to allegations or incidents of abuse and follow facility reporting procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and comfortable environment through proper use of safety equipment and infection prevention practices.
  • Attend required in-services, meetings, and ongoing training.

  • Experience caring for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other specialized needs is preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate resident lift equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the shift.
  • Ability to regularly push medication carts and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or assist with moving up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain visual acuity for medication administration, resident assessment, and documentation.
