The LPN role involves providing direct patient care within the LPN Scope of Practice , under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Manager.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, performing routine nursing procedures, and managing care based on physician orders.

They coordinate services with team members, update on patient condition, and assist in developing care plans.

The LPN also serves as a patient and caregiver educator , promoting self-care and support.

Accurate documentation, compliance with regulations, and participation in staff meetings and ongoing education are essential.

They may serve as a preceptor for new employees and participate in special projects.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED , Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification , and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred experience includes at least 1 year of medical/surgical nursing in an acute care setting.

Required skills encompass strong assessment, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities , along with proficiency in computer use and documentation.
