Lumber Yard Worker/ Forklift Operator

Requirements

• Forklift experience
• Lumber/ building material knowledge

Duties

• Safely operate forklift truck to load and unload shipments as well as customers
• Pick and prepare orders accurately
• Manage inventory levels through precise stock counting
• Assist with shipping and receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation
• Perform manual handling of materials, including heavy lifting, stacking pallets, and organizing stock within the warehouse
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure operational safety and efficiency

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklift
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting with proper technique
• Basic math skills for counting inventory and verifying shipments accurately
• Prior experience in shipping & receiving or warehouse distribution is highly desirable
• Excellent attention to detail combined with strong communication skills to work effectively within a team
• Previous experience with lumber and building materials
