Lunchtime Controller

Overview

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Lunchtime Controller to oversee the safety, supervision, and well-being of children during lunch periods at our educational facility. This vital role ensures a smooth, enjoyable, and secure lunchtime experience for students, staff, and visitors alike. As a Lunchtime Controller, you will be the key point of contact for managing lunchtime activities, maintaining order, and fostering a positive environment where children feel safe and engaged. Your proactive approach will contribute to the overall success of our school community by promoting safety, discipline, and friendly interaction.

Duties

• Supervise children during lunch breaks, ensuring they follow safety guidelines and behave appropriately
• Facilitate engaging and inclusive activities that promote socialization and enjoyment among students
• Monitor the dining area to prevent conflicts or unsafe behavior, intervening promptly when necessary
• Assist with the organization of lunchtime routines, including meal distribution and cleanup procedures
• Communicate effectively with teaching staff regarding student behavior or concerns during lunch periods
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including proper supervision ratios and hygiene standards
• Support children with special needs or additional requirements to ensure they have a positive lunchtime experience

Qualifications

• Prior experience in childcare, teaching assistance, nannying, or similar roles involving children is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of child development principles and effective supervision techniques
• Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in French is a plus for bilingual environments
• Valid driving license preferred for roles involving transportation responsibilities or school outings
• Ability to demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude in managing children’s needs
• Knowledge of childcare safety standards and basic first aid certification is advantageous
