What they need

About the School - Breaside Widmore Road:

Located in Bromley, Kent, Breaside Preparatory School provides a rich learning environment for your son or daughter. Our curriculum will prepare your children for the senior schools of choice through a balanced and broadly based education, from their first days in Kindergarten through to the age of 11.

We believe in getting the basics right and teaching the core subjects with a mixture of traditional teaching styles with the more modern approaches to learning. Coupled together with a strong work ethic and an enriching learning environment, we are confident that we help each child to develop towards their full potential.

Due to internal movement, the school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lunchtime Supervisor to join our fantastic team.

About Cognita:

Cognita is a global leader in independent education. Founded in 2004, we are a growing community of 90 schools in 21 countries - in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East - serving more than 100,000 students. Each of our schools are proudly unique, however our collective purpose is to create an environment where everyone can, "Thrive in a rapidly evolving world".

About the Role:

We are seeking a caring, responsible, and enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor to help ensure pupils enjoy a safe, happy, and positive lunchtime experience. Working under the direction of the Deputy Head or nominated member of staff, you will supervise pupils during lunch and playtimes, promoting good behaviour, wellbeing, and healthy eating habits. The role involves supporting children in dining and play areas, organising engaging activities, supervising indoor and outdoor play, administering first aid when required, and helping to maintain a safe, orderly environment across the school. As a valued member of the school community, you will contribute to the school's ethos, uphold safeguarding and health and safety standards, and play an important role in supporting pupils' welfare and enjoyment throughout the school day.

This is a term-time only position, working 10 hours a week.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with young children and is committed to supporting their wellbeing, safety, and development. The successful candidate will have experience working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families. You will be organised, flexible, and able to remain calm under pressure while working effectively as part of a team. A strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and a good sense of humour are essential, along with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare. An NVQ Level 2 in Childcare is required, while Paediatric First Aid training and previous first aid knowledge would be an advantage. Above all, we are looking for someone who will contribute positively to our school community and help create a safe, enjoyable, and nurturing environment for every child.

Benefits at Cognita:

  • Competitive salary depending upon qualifications and experience

  • Free coffee and tea supplied throughout the day
