Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant

Job Summary

Duties

• Supervise children during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Promote positive behavior and conflict management among students through effective communication and behavior guidance
• Assist with the organization of lunch routines, including helping children with their meals if needed
• Support children with special educational needs or childcare requirements to ensure inclusive participation
• Monitor play areas to prevent accidents and respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies
• Implement basic first aid procedures when necessary and report any injuries or concerns to appropriate staff
• Encourage respectful interactions among students, fostering a friendly and inclusive environment

Skills

• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, staff, and parents
• Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques to promote positive conduct
• Ability to handle conflict situations calmly and constructively
• Familiarity with special education needs and supporting children with diverse requirements is a plus
• Basic first aid skills to respond confidently in emergency situations
• Experience in classroom or teaching environments is advantageous but not essential

This is a part time role – 6.25 hours per week Monday to Friday 11:55 - 13:10 term time only

The pro rata salary is £3356.59 per year
