Mac Lab Tech (BMC)

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (Mac Lab Tech) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory testing, processing specimens, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring compliance with established laboratory procedures and quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with healthcare professionals to support timely and accurate diagnostic results and quality patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, identify, label, and process patient specimens according to established procedures.
• Perform laboratory tests and analyses accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare specimens and laboratory materials for testing.
• Operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment as required.
• Document and report laboratory results in a timely and accurate manner.
• Follow established quality control procedures and laboratory safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and patient documentation.
• Identify and report abnormal, critical, or questionable test results according to established policies.
• Monitor laboratory supplies and notify appropriate personnel when replenishment is needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Comply with applicable regulatory requirements, infection prevention standards, and organizational policies.
• Communicate effectively with laboratory personnel, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education and certification appropriate to the position and applicable state requirements.
• Previous laboratory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures, specimen handling, and quality control practices.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to use electronic laboratory or medical record systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and electronic medical records.
• Knowledge of applicable laboratory safety standards and regulatory requirements.
