Machine Builder

SMT Automation is looking for a Machine Builder Associate to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, and is interested in developing a career in industrial automation and machine building.

Previous automation experience is not required. We are looking for someone motivated, reliable, and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical assembly and installation of machine components
• Support basic electrical wiring and machine setup
• Read and follow assembly instructions and mechanical drawings
• Use hand tools, power tools, and basic measurement tools
• Assist with machine integration and equipment setup
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area
• Learn electrical controls, automation systems, and machine-building processes

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical and/or electrical knowledge or strong interest in learning
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Basic ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Positive attitude and ability to follow direction
• Motivated to learn and grow within the automation industry

Preferred – Not Required

• Technical or trade school education
• Previous hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, automotive, maintenance, or assembly work
• Familiarity with manufacturing or industrial environments
• Basic understanding of pneumatic systems

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
