Machine Builder Associate – Industrial Automation

SMT Automation is looking for a Machine Builder to support our industrial automation projects.

We are seeking mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy hands-on work and have experience or an interest in industrial machinery and mechanical assembly.

The primary focus of this position will be disassembling industrial automation equipment and preparing machinery for shipment to the customer.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical disassembly of industrial automation equipment and machinery
• Remove and organize mechanical components, assemblies, and machine structures
• Identify, label, and prepare components for shipment
• Read and follow mechanical drawings and assembly instructions
• Use hand tools, power tools, and basic measurement tools
• Support equipment handling and shipment preparation
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area
• Work closely with team members to ensure proper equipment disassembly

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical knowledge or previous hands-on assembly experience
• Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
• Basic ability to read mechanical drawings
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Preferred – Not Required

• Previous experience as a Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler, or Industrial Mechanic
• Technical or trade school education
• Experience working with industrial machinery or manufacturing equipment
• Familiarity with pneumatic systems and mechanical components
• Previous experience with machinery disassembly or installation

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
