This role is responsible for operating metal shearing equipment to cut steel to precise customer specifications while maintaining accuracy, quality, and a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Shear Machine Operation — Set up, operate, and monitor shear equipment to cut steel sheets, plates, or coils to required dimensions.
• Material Handling — Safely load and unload steel using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material‑handling equipment.
• Quality Inspection — Measure and inspect finished pieces to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer specifications.
• Equipment Setup — Adjust blades, back gauges, and machine settings based on job requirements.
• Safety Compliance — Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures, including PPE use and safe material‑handling practices.
• Production Documentation — Record production data, material usage, and job completion details accurately.
• Machine Maintenance — Perform basic cleaning, lubrication, and routine checks to keep equipment in good working condition.

Required Skills & Experience

• Manufacturing or Industrial Experience preferred, especially in metal or steel processing.
• Mechanical Aptitude — Ability to understand machine functions and make basic adjustments.
• Blueprint or Measurement Reading — Ability to read tape measures, calipers, and job specifications.
• Attention to Detail — Ensures cuts are accurate and materials meet quality standards.
• Physical Capability — Ability to lift, move, and handle steel materials safely.
