ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is an Australian manufacturer and supplier of steel and reinforcing products. Its Bassendean workshop supports the production of reinforcing bar products for the construction and infrastructure sectors.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking reliable and physically fit Machine Operators to join their steel and reinforcing bar manufacturing workshop in Bassendean.

These are hands-on roles operating and assisting with manufacturing machinery in a busy workshop environment.

Previous machine-operating or manufacturing experience would be advantageous; however, candidates with the right attitude, strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and monitor steel reinforcing bar manufacturing machinery
• Load steel coil and unload materials from machines
• Measure, inspect and handle manufactured products
• Assist with machine setup and basic adjustments
• Identify and report machine or product issues
• Complete repetitive manual-handling tasks, including lifting up to 15 kg
• Maintain a clean and organised work area
• Work closely with other operators and production team members
• Follow site procedures, production requirements and safe work practices
• Complete other general workshop duties as required

ABOUT YOU

• Physically fit and comfortable completing repetitive manual work
• Able to safely lift and handle items weighing up to 15 kg
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
• Willing and able to learn how to operate manufacturing machinery
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual and committed to every rostered shift
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Comfortable working in a workshop or factory environment
• Able to follow instructions and committed to workplace safety
• Available to work consistently on either the AM or PM shift

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen
• Full working rights in Australia
• Reliable transport to and from the Bassendean site
• Consistent availability for the selected shift
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the role
