Job description

R&R Groundworks & Civil Engineering Ltd are looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join our team on a self-employed/CIS basis.

We have a strong pipeline of long-term groundworks and civil engineering projects within a 50 mile radius of North Dorset. Applicants must be willing to travel to different sites when required.

The role will include:

• Operating excavators safely and efficiently on groundworks and civil engineering projects
• Working on deep drainage excavations
• Excavating trenches, foundations and formation levels
• Working closely with groundworkers and site supervisors
• Backfilling, grading and general earthworks
• Carrying out daily machine checks and maintaining equipment
• Working safely around existing services and site personnel
• Assisting with general site operations when required

Requirements:

• Proven experience operating plant on groundworks/civil engineering projects
• Strong deep drainage experience is essential
• Valid CPCS or NPORS ticket for the machinery being operated
• Good understanding of site health and safety
• Confident working around deep excavations and drainage gangs
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team
• Willing to travel to different sites
• Experience with concrete and formwork projects would be an advantage
