Job Summary:

The Machine Operator ensures machinery is operating properly and produces products that conform with company safety, quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. The Machine Operator performs minor troubleshooting on the machines.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Operate specialty machinery to custom print or label rigid containers like jars, bottles, tin cans, pails, etc.

· Adjust machine for screen or label changes, quality issues, or other varying needs.

· Completes necessary job paperwork including but not limited to: Inspection forms, label retention forms, line clearance forms, tape test forms.

· Ensures first piece inspection and line clearance forms are completed correctly and signed off by Quality Department/Management.

· Responsible for producing quality product on their machine.

· Ensure the correct artwork is used on jobs and that the final product is packed out and labeled correctly.

· Communicate with team members to ensure continuous and high-quality production.

· Maintain a clean and safe workplace through housekeeping, sanitation, and safety procedures. Organize workspace with 5S Methodology.

· Follow all safety protocol and participate in safety trainings, committees, and events when applicable. Wear required PPE at all necessary times.

· Verify adequate supplies are available to complete operations.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Thorough understanding of mechanics and other properties of machines.

· Ability to follow proper safety protocols.

· Collaborative and works effectively with others to achieve shared goals.

· Demonstrates strong attention to detail and ensures accuracy in all tasks.

· Demonstrates basic math skills for accurate measurements, calculations and recordkeeping.

· Reliable and punctual.

· Value pride, integrity, and creativity.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational school diploma highly preferred.

At least one year of experience as a machine operator required.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand for a prolonged period of time.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Must be able to bend, stretch, and squat to access all parts of the machine.

Must have sufficient visual acuity to safely operate, inspect, and monitor machinery.
