Machine Operator

Structural steel fabrication company looking for reliable and motivated Machine Operators to join our team.

The successful candidate will operate and assist with various fabrication machinery and equipment used in the processing of structural steel. This is a hands-on position suited for someone who is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate structural steel fabrication machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
• Set up machines according to shop drawings, work orders, and production requirements
• Load and unload steel materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment
• Measure and verify material dimensions before and after processing
• Cut, drill, punch, shear, bend, and process steel as required
• Perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshoot minor operating issues
• Inspect finished work to ensure dimensions and quality meet requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Complete production paperwork and material tracking as required
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance issues
• Follow all company safety procedures and workplace regulations
• Work closely with welders, fabricators, and other shop personnel to meet production schedules

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience operating fabrication or industrial machinery is an asset
• Experience in a structural steel fabrication environment is strongly preferred
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings and measurements
• Strong understanding of steel shapes, sizes, and basic fabrication processes
• Comfortable using measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and power tools
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues
• Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset
• CNC programming experience is an Asset
• AutoCAD programming is an Asset
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
• Physically capable of working in a steel fabrication shop and handling materials

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
