What they need

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and hands-on Textile Cutting Machine Operator to join our textile manufacturing operation. In this role, you will be trained to operate and maintain our advanced Pathfinder automated cutting system, helping to ensure high-quality textile components are cut accurately, efficiently, and safely.

No prior experience operating a Pathfinder machine? No problem. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training covering machine operation, software, material handling, quality control, and routine maintenance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in manufacturing while learning to operate leading-edge automated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor the Pathfinder cutting machine to ensure efficient and uninterrupted production.
  • Material Handling: Safely load, position, and unload textile and synthetic materials onto the cutting table.
  • File Preparation: Review digital cutting files and nesting layouts to maximise material utilisation and minimise waste.
  • Quality Control: Inspect cut components to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Machine Maintenance: Perform daily cleaning, basic preventative maintenance, and assist with troubleshooting as required.
  • Production Support: Work closely with team members to maintain production schedules and meet customer deadlines.
  • Production Support: Pack accessories, help with readying new jobs and taking packed finished product to the warehouse for dispatch.
  • Workplace Safety: Maintain a safe, organised, and clean work environment while following all company safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • A positive attitude and genuine willingness to learn new skills.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic computer skills and confidence using technology.
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and work ethic.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically capable of handling rolls of textile materials and standing for extended periods.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, textiles, warehousing, CNC operation, or machine operation will be highly regarded, but is not essential.

What We Offer

  • Full training and ongoing support.
  • Stable, full-time employment with a growing Australian manufacturer.
  • Opportunity to develop specialised machine-operating skills.
  • Supportive team environment.
  • Career growth opportunities for motivated employees.
