Machine Operator

Duties

• Perform regular scheduled preventative maintenance on machinery and as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, adhering to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) protocols
• Conduct routine inspections of machinery for mechanical issues, performing basic troubleshooting or notifying maintenance as needed
• Follow food safety guidelines during handling, processing, and packaging of food products
• Use forklift or other material handling equipment safely to move ingredients or finished products within the facility

Requirements

• Prior experience in food preparation, restaurant work, or kitchen environments is highly preferred.
• General knowledge and experience with food processing machines, such as bowl cutters, cup fillers, horizontal form/fill/seal machines, etc.
• General knowledge and experience with electrical systems, compressed air systems, and plumbing.
• Ability to follow and complete preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ability to troubleshoot emergent issues with machinery or systems as they occur, including diagnosing and resolving back to working order, while maintaining a clean, controlled, food-safe environment.
• Ability to communicate over telephone or in person with specialist technicians and follow their troubleshooting instructipons.
• Knowledge of food safety standards such as HACCP and CGMP is a plus
• Ability to maintain and manage spare parts inventory and communicate when supplies are needed before they run out.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift approximately 50 lbs. regularly
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one is advantageous

Pay: $30.00 per hour
