Machine Operator - Dry

SCOPE OF POSITION

The Machine Operator is a hands-on production role responsible for learning, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality textile production. This position is not a management role but requires strong technical capability, adherence to established procedures, and the ability to work independently while supporting team objectives. The Machine Operator follows direction from Shift Supervisors and is expected to communicate issues promptly and accurately.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Learn and safely operate assigned production machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Set up, operate, and perform routine operational procedures on production equipment
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental standards as defined by company policies and procedures
• Adhere to instructions and production priorities communicated by Shift Leaders, including Senior Operators and Shift Supervisors
• Load raw materials and unload finished products efficiently and safely
• Perform regular visual and in-process quality inspections to identify defects and ensure products meet all specifications and quality standards
• Troubleshoot basic machine, process, and quality issues and report all concerns to Senior Operators or Supervisors as required
• Escalate equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality deviations promptly
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and production areas
• Accurately complete production, quality, and downtime documentation

Essential Communication Skills:

• Clearly communicate production status, issues, and solutions across teams

• Provide constructive feedback and technical guidance to Operators

• Collaborate effectively with Maintenance, QA staff, supervisors, and fellow Operators

• Maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift required weight limits

• Willingness to learn manufacturing processes and equipment

• Basic math and communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and reliability
