Machine Operator /Production Team Member

We are a long-established Caloundra-based manufacturer seeking a reliable and motivated Machine Operator / Production Team Member to join our manufacturing team. The role involves operating plastic injection moulding machines, preparing moulded components for metallising and lacquering, and assisting with general production tasks as required.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the operation and monitoring of plastic injection moulding machines.
• Load and unload moulds and production equipment as required, following established procedures to ensure consistent product quality.
• Remove, trim and finish injection-moulded plastic components.
• Inspect moulded parts for defects, identify and report production issues, defective parts or machine irregularities.
• Prepare plastic parts for metallising and lacquering.
• Operate vacuum metallising equipment following appropriate training and safety procedures.
• Inspect completed metallised products for finish quality and consistency.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, tidy and safe work area.
• Assist with other production tasks as required.

About you

• Previous experience operating injection moulding machines or working in plastics manufacturing would be advantageous but is not essential.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality products.
• A strong safety focus and willingness to follow workplace procedures.
• Good time management, planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a physically active, fast-paced production environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to learn new skills.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment, including in the metallising and lacquer room.

We’re looking for someone who is a team player, eager to learn a variety of skills and reliable on a day-to-day basis. Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous but is not essential. The position will initially be offered on a casual basis, with the possibility of full-time employment for the right applicant.
