ABOUT THE ROLE

Backam Group is currently seeking experienced Machine Operators with a steel manufacturing background for multiple ongoing opportunities across Western Sydney.

These positions offer long-term, ongoing work with temp-to-perm opportunities for the right candidates. We have vacancies available across Day, Afternoon, and Night Shifts with immediate starts available.

Location: Western Sydney
Role: Machine Operator (Steel Industry)
Employment Type: Casual Ongoing (Temp to Perm)
Roster: Monday to Friday
Shifts Available: Day, Afternoon & Night Shift
Pay Rate: $35 - $48 per hour + Super + Overtime
Start Date: ASAP

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operating steel processing and manufacturing machinery safely and efficiently
Setting up and monitoring production equipment
Reading and interpreting measurements, drawings, and production specifications
Loading and unloading steel materials
Conducting quality checks and inspections
Maintaining production targets while working safely
General housekeeping and maintaining a clean work area
Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous Machine Operating experience within the steel, metal, or manufacturing industry
Ability to read and interpret measurements and basic drawings
Strong understanding of workplace safety practices
Reliable transport and flexibility to work various shifts
Strong work ethic and commitment to attendance
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Highly Desirable:

Machine Operator (Steel Background)
Overhead Crane Experience
Experience operating roll formers, slitters, press machines, laser cutters, shearing or steel processing equipment
