What they need

Who We Are

Endres Manufacturing is an AISC certified structural steel fabricator that’s been around for 100 years. We build things that hold up, and we do it with a crew that values family, loyalty, and a strong work ethic. People here pitch in, speak up, and have room to grow.

Is This You?

We are looking for a Machine Operator/Material Handler to join our team. Machine Operators take care of all machine-specific functions such as configuring the equipment, loading, and operating the machines, and optimizing the machine capability. They ensure that the machine works at its full capacity, oversee its maintenance, and perform timely quality checks. Material Handlers are responsible for all material handling needs, primarily using overhead remote cranes and forklifts to move Structural Steel.

Locations: Waunakee, WI & Arlington, WI

Shifts Available:

1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00AM - 3:30PM

2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:30PM - 3:00AM

What You'll Do

This role is a mix of running machines and moving material throughout the shop. You'll learn both sides of the work.

On the machines

  • Setting up, calibrating, and running machines, and loading raw material into our semi-automated equipment
  • Watching how the machine is running and making adjustments as needed
  • Doing regular machine checks, cleaning, and minor maintenance
  • Troubleshooting and fixing basic mechanical issues
  • Checking your parts with the right measuring tools so quality stays high
  • Learning to run multiple machines and production processes

Moving material

  • Loading and unloading trucks and moving material around the shop
  • Using overhead remote cranes and forklifts to move structural steel
  • Checking incoming material against purchase orders, and reporting shortages, damage, or wrong shipments
  • Rotating stock, helping with inventory counts, and keeping material organized in its place
  • Keeping handling equipment in good shape and using it safely

Every day

  • Following work instructions, job layouts, and blueprints
  • Meeting schedules and production needs, working on your own or with the team
  • Keeping your work area clean and safe
  • Following safety policies and wearing your PPE every time

What You Bring

We care more about what you can do than where you picked it up. You don't need to be an expert. If you're willing to learn, we're ready to teach you and help you grow.

Reading and measuring

  • You can read blueprints, work instructions, and handbooks
  • You have basic math skills and are comfortable with tape measures and other measuring tools

Running equipment

  • You have working knowledge of heavy duty or high-speed machinery
  • You can use hand tools and operate overhead cranes and forklifts
  • You can handle minor equipment maintenance

Solving problems

  • You can spot when a machine isn't running right and work out a fix

Working safely

  • You understand safety procedures and hazard regulations, and you treat safety as part of the job, not an extra

Working with others

  • You communicate well and work well on a team
  • You're willing to cross train on different machines and in different departments

Nice to have

  • At least one year of machine operation or related education

Required

  • High school diploma or GED

Physical Side of the Job

  • You'll be on your feet, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, and reaching
  • You'll use your hands and fingers for tools and machine controls
  • You can work indoors and outdoors, including dusty and noisy areas
  • You can work in high places, tight spaces, and confined areas
  • You can lift and carry 50 to 75 pounds frequently

Why Endres?

You'll join a family-owned team, learn more than one machine and department, and have real chances to grow. Come see what we're about.
