Machine Paint Touch-Up Technician

About the role

Estek Automation Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Paint Touch-Up Technician to join our manufacturing team in Batu Kawan, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and aesthetic standards of our manufactured products. As a Machine Paint Touch-Up Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, preparing, and applying touch-up paint to machinery and components to ensure they meet our exacting quality standards. This position is integral to our commitment to delivering superior products to our clients and directly impacts the final presentation and durability of our equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect machinery and manufactured components for paint defects, scratches, chips, and other surface imperfections
• Prepare surfaces for touch-up work, including cleaning, sanding, and priming as required
• Apply paint touch-ups using appropriate techniques and equipment, ensuring colour matching and finish consistency
• Operate and maintain paint application equipment, including spray guns, brushes, and related tools
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work environment
• Maintain accurate records of touch-up work completed and materials used
• Communicate with production and quality assurance teams regarding defects and repair progress
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to paint handling and application
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance paint quality and efficiency

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Paint Technician, Machine Operator, or similar role in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of paint types, application techniques, and surface preparation methods
• Proficiency in operating paint application equipment and tools
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in manufacturing
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies
• Preferably, certification or training in paint application or surface coating techniques
• Previous experience in the automation or machinery manufacturing sector would be advantageous
