Hours:

DAYSHIFT | Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

*Occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand.

• Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour

MIDNIGHTS | Monday – Thursday | 8:30PM to 7:00AM [4 tens]

*Occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand.

• Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour (includes shift differential)

JOB SUMMARY:

Machine Press Operator Level 1 & 2 will operate press brakes, rivet stations, iron workers, punch presses, and similar equipment to support production of manufactured goods in a metal stamping/cold formed steel environment.

REQUIREMENTS | LEVEL 1 & 2

• At least one (1) year of experience operating machines and/or presses in a cold formed metal products environment, or similar manufacturing setting
• Comfortable performing tasks such as punching, forming/ bending, rolling, and deburring is a plus
• Previous use of material handling equipment (jib cranes, overhead cranes) is a plus
• Capable of reading and using required measuring instruments such as dial calipers, micrometers, scales, etc.
• Capability to obtain forklift certification and train within 90 days of hire
• Experience entering production or quality data into an ERP system

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF A PRESS OPERATOR:

• Follow all safety protocols and maintain compliance with company standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free work area
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
• Support production goals by ensuring quality and timely output
• Demonstrates working knowledge of required measuring tools and uses them accurately
• Performs required data entry tasks with attention to detail
• Understands machine functions and operates equipment safely and effectively
• Capable of performing initial setup on equipment (training provided)

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience working in a metal stamping or cold-formed steel environment
• Forklift experience

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

TRAVEL

No travel is expected for this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 40 pounds daily. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment and the job sites can be loud.
