What they need
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical CNC Machinist / Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will bridge the gap between engineering concepts and physical production. You will be responsible for reviewing engineering work orders, interpreting complex blueprints, and fabricating parts in-house.
This position requires a creative problem-solver who can think outside the box to reverse-engineer worn components, program advanced CNC machinery (including Mazak systems), and manually craft custom parts from a wide variety of materials.
- Starting rate negotiable depending on experience
- Ability to earn $1.00/hour increase per pay period based on perfect attendance
- Bi-weekly

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Blueprint Analysis & Material Planning: Analyze engineering blueprints and technical drawings to determine material requirements and order raw stock as needed.
- Engineering Collaboration: Partner closely with the engineering and maintenance teams to execute Maintenance & Repair Operations (MRO) work orders and determine if formal blueprinting is required for broken components.
- Custom Fabrication & Reverse Engineering: Reverse-engineer broken or worn production parts (such as tear-out blocks, gauges, and cutter bodies) with or without existing drawings.
- CNC & Manual Machining: Program, set up, and operate both manual and CNC machinery (Lathes, Mills, and Turning centers). Utilize Mazak programming and CAD/CAM software to manufacture high-precision components.
- Multi-Material Expertise: Successfully machine and fabricate parts using a diverse range of materials, including cast-iron, steel, aluminum, metals, and industrial plastics.
- Quality Inspection: Utilize advanced precision metrology instruments (micrometers, comparators, and surface plates)
- Rigging & Equipment Handling: Safely perform rigging operations to move heavy machinery, raw materials, and machinery components.
- Ability to lift 40-50lbs

- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal machinist apprenticeship or technical degree is a plus / or a NIMS certification.
Technical Skills:
- Machining & Programming: CNC Turning, Milling, Lathe operations, Manual programming, and CAD/CAM software training. Specialized experience with Mazak programming is highly recommended.
- Inspection: Mastery of precision measurement tools including micrometers, optical comparators, and surface plates.
- Engineering Literacy: Advanced blueprint reading.
- Heavy Operations: Basic rigging and safe material handling practices.
- MIG welding experience preferred but not necessary.
