Machinery Operator

Job Summary

The Machinery Operator is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, and maintaining assigned machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations. The operator must follow safety procedures, operating instructions, and site requirements while maintaining equipment in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate assigned machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct pre-operation and post-operation inspections of machinery.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify unusual sounds, faults, or malfunctions.
• Follow operating procedures, manufacturer instructions, and safety regulations.
• Perform basic cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance of machinery.
• Report equipment breakdowns, defects, or maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
• Ensure proper handling and use of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Maintain daily operation and equipment inspection records.
• Follow all HSE and site safety requirements.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other operators to complete assigned work.
• Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and free from unnecessary hazards.
• Use appropriate PPE at all times.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical qualification is an advantage.
• Previous experience operating machinery or industrial equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of machinery operation and basic maintenance.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and safety procedures.
• Good awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Physically fit and capable of working in an operational/site environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant machinery/operator certification or license, where required, is an advantage.
