Machinist

Overview

Join our close-knit manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist and become a vital part of our growing team and business. Depending on experience, proficiency, or preference, you would program, set up, and operate live tool Y axis lathes or horizontal milling machines. This is an exciting opportunity for skilled machinists eager to work in very low to medium volume machining. This is a day shift opportunity, Monday thru Thursday, 4 - 10hr shifts

Responsibilities

• Program Mazak live tool Y axis lathes with Mazatrol programming and/or Program Mazak horizontal milling machines with CAM software.
• Set-up, and operate CNC machining equipment such as Mazak live tool - Y axis lathes and/or Mazak horizontal milling machines.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T
• Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement tools to verify part dimensions.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, perform manual machining when necessary, and make adjustments to ensure quality output.

Requirements

• Experience operating CNC machinery such as the equipment listed above
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code, M-code, Mazatrol, and Gibbscam
• Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting technical drawings with GD&T specifications.
• Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks or similar for part design review is highly desirable.
• Ability to use precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges for quality inspection.
• Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining tools, tooling setup, machine calibration, and manual machining techniques.
• Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feeds, speeds, and conversions required during machining processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
