Machinist

About the role

CME Engineering Co is looking for a skilled, motivated and reliable Machinist to join our growing team. This role offers a mix of workshop-based machining and on-site work at various locations throughout Western Australia. The successful candidate will work with a range of machinery and equipment, carrying out machining, repairs, maintenance and other engineering tasks to meet our clients' needs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform machining, repairs and maintenance on a variety of machinery and equipment.
• Carry out workshop-based machining and on-site machining work across various locations throughout WA.
• Assist with line boring and other precision machining tasks.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
• Follow all site-specific and mine-specific safety procedures, instructions and requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment.
• Work effectively both independently and collaboratively with the wider team.
• Travel to client sites as required.

About you

• Trade Qualification - (Machinist, Fitter & Turner).
• Valid Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Ability to pass a pre-employment Medical.
• Line boring experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Operate Manual Lathe's, Mill's & Borers.
• A current Australian C class driver's licence is essential, HR or MR preferred.
• Assist if required in performing fitting, maintenance, Fabrication and general duties
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality workmanship.
• Ensure compliance with all standard operating procedures and safe work practices
• Ability to work unsupervised, use initiative and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• A reliable, flexible and safety-conscious approach to work.
