Mack Truck Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and safety-conscious Mack Truck Driver to operate heavy-duty Mack trucks for the safe and timely transportation of goods and materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for vehicle safety, cargo handling, route management, delivery documentation, and basic truck maintenance while ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations.

Job Description

• Operate Mack heavy-duty trucks safely and efficiently for the transportation of goods and materials.
• Transport and deliver cargo to designated locations within agreed timelines.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is roadworthy.
• Check brakes, tyres, engine oil, coolant, lights, and other critical vehicle components.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent damage or loss during transportation.
• Follow assigned routes and use GPS or navigation applications when required.
• Complete waybills, delivery notes, trip sheets, and other transportation documents accurately.
• Obtain proof of delivery and report delivery issues or discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, trips, and vehicle maintenance.
• Keep the truck clean and in good operating condition.
• Report mechanical faults, accidents, breakdowns, or vehicle damage immediately.
• Liaise professionally with dispatchers, warehouse staff, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Comply with traffic laws, road safety requirements, and company transportation policies.
• Assist with loading and unloading cargo where necessary.
• Ensure all vehicle documents and driver's documentation are valid and up to date.
• Safeguard company property, vehicle, and cargo throughout each journey.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Transport or Operations Manager.

Requirements/Skills

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO or equivalent.
• Valid Nigerian Driver's License appropriate for heavy-duty vehicles.
• Proven years' experience driving heavy-duty trucks.
• Previous experience operating Mack trucks is highly preferred.
• Proven experience with local and long-distance transportation.
• Good knowledge of Nigerian roads, highways, and traffic regulations.
• Basic knowledge of heavy-duty truck maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to conduct proper vehicle safety inspections.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and reliability.
• Clean driving record and strong commitment to safe driving.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel for extended periods when required.
• Physically fit and able to assist with cargo handling when necessary.

Pay: ₦80,000.00 - ₦100,000.00 per month
