macOS Platform Engineer

macOS Platform Engineer | 12+ Month B2B Contract | Remote | Aviation Sector

Requirement - English AND German, both at C1 level.

We're hiring on behalf of an end client in the aviation industry, which is scaling its Apple endpoint estate and investing in a dedicated macOS Platform Engineer to support and grow its device management capability. This is a hands-on engineering role, not an oversight or architecture position.

About the role

You'll own the provisioning and operation of macOS devices and the management platform behind them, across an enterprise environment of more than 1,000 endpoints. You'll cover the full Apple device management lifecycle, from MDM platform operation through software packaging, policy and compliance configuration, and integration of modern Apple enterprise security tooling.

What you'll be doing

• Operating and further developing the Fleet-based MDM environment
• Managing software packaging, deployment and lifecycle management
• Configuring and maintaining policies, compliance requirements and security guidelines
• Integrating and operating technologies such as Santa and Platform SSO (PSSO), alongside other Apple enterprise services
• Automating and optimising operational processes across the macOS environment
• Supporting the rollout of new Apple platform features as they're introduced
• Working closely with IT, security and compliance stakeholders to keep the Apple estate secure and audit-ready

What you'll need

• Strong hands-on experience with macOS (Darwin/BSD Unix) at a deep technical level
• Demonstrable experience working as a Platform Engineer
• Enterprise-scale device management experience (1,000+ endpoints)
• Experience with device management processes and architecture
• Identity and access management experience
• Experience with modern Apple management tools (Fleet, Jamf, or equivalent MDM platforms)
• Software packaging, deployment and lifecycle tooling experience
• English AND German, both at C1 level. This is a mandatory, client-set requirement with no flexibility
